The Michigan Periodontal Association (MPA) has been representing periodontists in the state of Michigan since 1962. Through the hard work of our members, this association has been influential with state legislation, board examinations, peer review, other dental specialty groups, general dentists and dental hygienists. We have liaisons to the American Academy of Periodontology and with University of Michigan and University of Detroit/Mercy Schools of Dentistry. There are well established relationships with insurance companies and dental suppliers. As a consequence, the MPA is held in high esteem by state agencies, universities, dental groups, insurance companies and vendors.
As Michigan periodontists, we have all enjoyed the benefits of past and present MPA endeavors. There are few things we would like to ask of you:
- Renew your membership or become a new member of the MPA.
- Keep us informed of your concerns regarding issues that impact our profession.
- Consider joining one of our committees. (Peer Review, Board Examination, etc.)
- Attend the MPA annual meeting. There will be CE, sponsor tables/presentations and a business meeting. This is your chance to catch up on the current national, state and/or regional issues relevant to dentistry and periodontics.
