Angela Hoikka, DDS, MS
Angela Hoikka, DDS, MS is an alumnus of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. After graduating she practiced general dentistry as an independent business owner in the state of Michigan before moving to Ohio, Texas, Arizona, England, Japan
and finally back to the midwest. After 20 years in general dentistry, she continued on to study Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, receiving her Master of Science, a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial
Radiology and becoming a diplomate of the American Board of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
In addition to owning an independent business, her work in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology includes being a volunteer supporting the Pacific US Air Force mission, independent contracting for two consulting services, and reviewing for the Journal of
Forensic sciences. She is currently working as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy and a volunteer consultant to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Recently she has worked with oral surgery to complete work at University of Texas Health in San Antonio on correlation of fixture placement and patient symptoms in orthognathic surgery, published Primary Intraosseous Xanthoma of the Mandible, a chapter in Dental Clinic of North America on Radiographic Diagnosis in the Pediatric Dental Patient, received the presential award and is currently working with colleagues to publish Michigan specific radiographic guidelines for patient selection in the MDA journal.
Felipe Nör, DDS, MS, PhD
Dr. Felipe Nor is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Dr. Nor earned his DDS degree and PhD in Oral Pathology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil. After working for seven years as a dentist in private practice in Brazil, Dr. Nor joined the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where he completed the Master’s in Oral Sciences program as well as the Certificate and Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Dr. Nor is a reviewer for several scientific journals in the fields of dentistry, dental hygiene, and pathology, and serves as a guest editor on special research topics. His primary research interests include the evaluation of diagnostic markers of salivary gland tumors and the therapeutic effects of small molecule inhibitors in preclinical models of head and neck cancer. Dr. Nor serves as the director of the University of Michigan Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Biopsy Service and provides patient care at the Comprehensive Clinical Pathology Services (CCPS) clinic.
